Asus Eee 4G Surf 7″ Micro Laptop PC (800 MHz Intel Celeron Processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB Hard Drive, Linux Preloaded) Pure White

January 28th, 2008 by admin

I was a bit apprehensive about the OS, since I have never had a linux machine, but it is super easy to use and very intuitive. Whew.

It took me a while to get used to the keyboard, but I have adapted quickly. I wouldn’t use such a small keyboard for work, but for casual web surfing, reading docs, and editing/reviewing docs (my main uses of the machine) it is fine. Read More »

Columbia Cougar Flats Six to Eight-Person Two-Room Cabin Tent

January 28th, 2008 by admin

Just returned from a week long camping trip with my family (2 adults - 2 kids) and I must say that this tent was great. I spent a long time analyzing tents from all manufacturers - trying to find the best of comfort, quality and size. I bought (and returned) 2 similarly sized but cheaper Coleman brand tents and was very disappointed with the quality when I set them up in my backyard. Cheap feeling material and broken-out-of-the box poles and Read More »

Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom

January 28th, 2008 by admin

This is definitely the slickest ultra-compact out there. I’ve owned this camera for almost 6 months now with absolutely no problems. If you are a guy, this camera is perfect for everyday use.
As a guy, if I’m leaving the house to do whatever, I don’t like to carry too much stuff with me. I got my wallet and my phone. I don’t have much more pocket space left. I can still carry this one without being uncomfortable or look like I’m stuffing bricks in my pants.
Sure it may not be as powerful or come with Read More »

Jasmine by Takamine S35 Acoustic Guitar, Natural

January 28th, 2008 by admin

This is a nice beginner’s guitar. The action is kind of high, so you will earn your calluses quickly. I bought mine from GearTree through Amazon, and it arrived quickly in great condition. However, consider buying directly from a vendor’s website, because some offer free shipping when you buy directly. Read More »

New Super Mario Bros - Nintendo DS game

January 28th, 2008 by admin

There are sometimes where you look at classic video games, and how much they’ve impacting the gaming industry. While there are great games out there that have been well-receieved like Halo, Doom, Madden ‘06, and others that’ve really shown a great depth of universal appeal. Duma Key: A Novel (Hardcover)

January 28th, 2008 by admin

This is one of the best books ever from one of the best American writers. Stephen King knows what scares us, and he’s been proving it for thirty years, but this new novel adds a layer of humanity to the fantasy that makes it all the more surprising. Though the protagonist of DUMA KEY is ostensibly a divorced construction engineer with a latent talent for drawing, he is also clearly a stand-in for the author himself, making this arguably his most personal narrative.
