“Once” is a real find. The story of a street musician who meets a Czech émigré on the streets of downtown Dublin, is a believable, well-made film about love, dreams and making things happen.

Guy (Glen Hansard, a real musician who also appeared in the film “The Commitments”), a street busker who sings his heart out on the streets of Dublin, works in his dad’s vacuum repair shop. Read More »

Across the Universe (Two-Disc Special Edition) dvd

Across the Universe, from director Julie Taymor, is a revolutionary rock musical that re-imagines America in the turbulent late-1960s, a time when battle lines were being drawn at home and abroad. When young dockworker Jude (Jim Sturgess) leaves Liverpool to find his estranged father in America, he is swept up by the waves of change that are re-shaping the nation. Jude falls in love with Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), a rich but sheltered American girl who joins the growing anti-war movement in New York’s Greenwich Village. Read More »

Samsung LNT4661F 46″ 1080p LCD HDTV

I think my title about sums it up. I was initially going to purchase a Samsung LN-S4695D because the price had dropped so low, but then I saw this set. After doing some comparison research I decided that the extra $130 was well worth it for this set.

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a TV online, but the process was extremely smooth. Eagle White Glove service gets perfect marks in my book. The TV was ordered Read More »

Devil May Cry 4 - PLAYSTATION 3 game

January 30th, 2008 by admin

Fans of the ‘Hack and Slash’ wing of the Action genre are more than likely familiar with the single player, gothic-flavored action of Capcom’s Devil May Cry franchise. The first three games in the series are centered on the sword play and gun slinging of demon hunter and long-time hero, Dante, but in the most recent release, Devil May Cry 4, players are thrown a changeup, as doubt is cast on the once unquestionable motives and actions of Dante by a new, yet somehow familiar hero, Nero. Super Mario Galaxy - wii game

January 30th, 2008 by admin

The classic Super Mario 64 re-defined the platformer for a new generation of gamers. The long anticipated Super Mario Galaxy, what I consider to be the true sequel to Super Mario 64 (sorry Super Mario Sunshine!) re-defines the modern day platformer once again, and is a crowning achievement for the license, Nintendo, the Wii, and video games in general. Princess Peach is in dire straits once again in Bowser’s clutches, and Mario embarks on an interstellar quest to save her. Read More »

No More Heroes - Nintendo Wii game

January 30th, 2008 by admin

First of all, this is a mature title and it’s a welcome change of pace from all the “casual” games out there on the Wii. There is blood and mature language, but it’s in the style of of what you may have seen in the Kill Bill films. This game is totally over the top and it’s funny. It’s all about the intense combat, strange characters, witty dialog, wicked sense of humor and overall visual anime-style look of the game. Read More »
